How to: Use a field as a criteria but do not display that field.
Solution:
Open the query in Design view and select or clear the check box in the 'Show' cell.
1) If the Database window is not active, activate the Database window.
2) Select the 'Queries' tab in the Database window.

3) Select the desired query from the list.
4) Click 'Design'. (The query opens in Design view.)
5) Do one of the following:
a) Clear the check box in the 'Show' cell to hide the field criteria.
b) Select the check box in the 'Show' cell to unhide the field criteria.
